About Me

I have spent the last fifteen years as a civil servant working for the United Nations, USAID, the Department of State, and the White House. I have gotten to do some amazing things - like working alongside community leaders rebuilding a refugee camp in North Lebanon, supporting activists fighting for human rights in Afghanistan, and learning from women peacekeepers providing security in Liberia. Across locations, I have pursued my childhood ambition of doing the most good for the most people in need.

I am a recognized policy expert and have served on high-level delegations, including the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), the Organization for Economic Cooperation on Development (OECD), and the Organization for Security Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). In 2020, I was awarded the Council on Foreign Relations International Affairs Fellowship (CFR-IAF) and a Life Member of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR).

I have been incredibly lucky and also incredibly burnt out.

In addition to becoming progressively more successful in the foreign policy and international relations community, in 2018, I began addressing my burnout through a variety of mindfulness adjacent tools. I sought certifications as a Breathwork Facilitator and Yoga Instructor.  However, I kept this part of me separate from my civil service work for years. A 2024 training with the MIT Presencing Institute shifted my perspective:  I realized my pension for healing and deep knowing could be an asset for my work, not a liability. I began crafting a life where both of my priorities could thrive alongside one another. In October 2024, I discussed this experience as a featured speaker at the Inner Development Goals (IDG) annual summit.

Today, my ambition is to spark a global movement toward mainstream compassion, sustainability, and resilience across the civil service personnel at all levels of government.  My tools in that effort are an active coaching practice, breathwork facilitation for public servants, and writing. I imagine a future where these skills are core to the important international aspirations we have set for a new global future.
